Shipping Policy
Delivery area
We ship within Australia and can also send items overseas.
Overseas orders
Due to the current instability with overseas postage, overseas buyers must contact us for the postage cost before ordering: 02 9481 8800 or sales@directautoparts.com.au.
Carrier and dispatch
We use Australia Post as the parcel carrier for most of our services. Orders are dispatched on the next business day, with a daily cut-off time of 6:00 am (AEST).
For most items ordered within Australia, the initial postage fee is paid by us. The default service is Economy parcel. Express parcel is available on request at extra cost; please check at auspost.com.au that this service is available at your location. A daily courier (Sydney metro) is available on request at extra cost. Call 02 9481 8800 to enquire.
Tracking
All our parcels have a tracking service. The tracking number is updated when the item is dispatched from our warehouse and is available in your order record and email notifications. Once an item is dispatched we can no longer control its movement, and delivery status can be found at auspost.com.au.
Large and heavy items
Large and heavy items (over 105 cm or over 20 kg) are delivered by a variety of freight couriers. Freight fees are paid by the buyer, so please contact us before purchase for the freight cost. Freight couriers require a delivery address and mobile number. PO Box, Parcel Collect and similar addresses are not acceptable for freight delivery.
Freight special delivery conditions
Freight companies do not have a special ability to handle automotive panels and do not insure them. If a panel arrives damaged (dented, scratched, etc.) no freight claims will be accepted, and delivery of automotive panels is at the buyer's own risk. To dispatch an automotive panel by freight we require your written acceptance of these conditions. We strongly advise buyers to arrange their own freight and transit insurance for all panels and fragile freight items.
Damage in transit
We use extra transit insurance for items over $50.00 and our packaging is tested to withstand careless handling, but damage sometimes happens. If your item was damaged in transit you must tell us within 7 days and lodge a Damage in Transit claim with Australia Post. Under Australia Post regulations, only the receiver can lodge this claim.
- Australia Post requires all packaging together with the item for the claim, so do not dispose of any packaging until you are sure the item is undamaged and matches its description.
- Do not post a damaged item back to us, as this voids the ability to claim compensation.
Unclaimed and returned parcels
Please check that your delivery address is valid and up to date. Parcels returned to us because of an incorrect or invalid address, or because they were unclaimed or not received, can be posted a second time at the buyer's cost. Any refund for these items will have the initial postage cost, warehouse processing fee and return postage charges deducted, and a late return fee where applicable.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
